This is a rare habitat hosting Panaxia Quadripunctaria butterfly which makes its appearance in this unique natural park from mid June to late September. Some of the species hosted in the park are extremely rare and can only be seen in a few places around the world.
It is twelve kilometers from the city of Rhodes, near the village Kalamonas. It is crossed by the river Pelekanos. You can follow the special footpaths and wooden bridges that can be found in this beautiful landscape of greenery, ponds with water lilies, small waterfalls and gurgling waters. The experience will definitely reward you.
You can also visit the Museum of Natural History of Rhodes. The exhibits are presented in display cases that represent the conditions of the natural environment. The exhibits include endemic and rare species of the wider area of the Valley. There is also an incubator, a butterflies showroom with live exhibits, a library and a modern botanical laboratory.
