The Historical and Folklore Museum of Alonissos is an “ark of knowledge” in a place that "floods" with history and traditions. It is located in Patitiri, in an impressive stone-made building. The museum is a private collection and operates since 2001 at the initiative of Mr. Kostas and Angela Mavrikis.
On the first floor of the Museum visitors can admire ancient relics and weapons or objects discovered in warships and pirate ships. Pirates were active from the 16th to the 18th century and this is a very interesting collection that brings the legendary life of the pirates to life. In the basement of the building you will find traditional items of Alonissos: Barbers’ razors, an old olive mill press and traditional costumes. The museum guarantees a short but exciting trip to the traditional island life!
