In order to go to Chorio, you need to take the stairs: 500 steps going all the way on the top of the hill. This village is of particular interest due to the temples, the Byzantine icons, the sacred vessels and the beautiful churches: Panagia of the Castle, Panagia Charitomeni, Holy Trinity, Peiraiotissa, Ai Thanasis, Ai Lefteris, Stavros, Ai Dimitris, Ai Nikolas, Ai Panteleimonas and Ai-Giorgis . In Panagia of the Castle you can admire the picture of the Second Coming of post-Byzantine painter George Klontzas.
On the hill of Noulia you can see the mills, remnants of the period of the island's financial peak. You can also see the old monument that bears the name Pontikokastro. The perimeter walls of the castle in the eastern part are preserved till nowadays.
In recent years old houses, which were destroyed by war or were neglected, are being restored. The biggest square of the village is that of “Laikos Syllogos” (=People's Association), which has a playground, restaurants, shops, cafes, and it is a vital part of the village. Also, on the square you can attend several cultural events that take place during the summer Festival. Near the square, you will also find Peteinaki house, typical of the island’s architecture, and the four-storey Chatziagapitou - Hatziioannou house with the famous parlor. The Archaeological-Folklore Museum of Symi is housed in Pharmakidis house.
Spetsaria is another interesting place to visit. It is the old pharmacy of the island with old glass jars with signs explaining what each one was. It currently serves as the municipal Medical Center for the residents of the village.
