The church of the Catholics of the island was built in 1829 in the place of an older church and all expenses were paid by Gregory Stephanos. A Latin inscription above the entrance indicates the construction date and the name of the architect of the building “X' Simos” (Chatzisimos). The church is built on an elevated level and follows the Italian standards similar to the Churches of St. Georgios, Metamorphosis and Assumption. The decor is simple, with light colors. The center of the floor is covered by a tombstone from the grave of Gregory Stephanos who died in 1834 and was buried in the church.
