Since 1984, the Archaeological Museum is housed in "Konaki" which is part of the medieval Castle of St. Nicholas. It is located in the district of "Kavos" and it is a two storey building.

The ground floor is divided into three areas: the west part includes sculptures of the Early Christian period, the middle part houses stone anchors and amphorae which were collected from the sea and the third part houses the statue of a diver with his diving uniform and accessories.

The first floor consists of four rooms. In the first room there is an exhibition of findings from ancient Megisti such as inscriptions, tombstones, vases, lamps, vases and fragments of a Roman sarcophagus. In the second room you will find a few samples of early Christian sculptures, Byzantine coin-jewelry and a graphical representation of the castle of St. Nicholas. The third room houses the frescoes of St. Nicholas (17th century), miniature objects, drawings and photographs of post-Byzantine monuments of the island. The fourth room is dedicated to folklore so there is an exhibition of traditional costumes, embroidery, ceramics, folk art and a representation of a kitchen.
