This is a ghost village located next to the main road that connects Megalo Chorio with Livadia. Before the war, Mikro Chorio was not that small and had over 750 permanent residents. However, the population started decreasing when people started moving to Rhodes, Athens, Australia and America. Those who stayed behind moved to Livadia. From the 220 houses of the settlement only the walls are preserved nowadays. At the top of the hill you will find the remains of a medieval tower which also offers a beautiful, panoramic view of the settlement. The arrangement of the single-room dwellings and the network of roads in the village shows that it was organized into a single residential complex probably by the Knights Hospitaller in the 15th century.
The Church of Agia Zoni with its elegant bell tower still stands proudly in the village. Also, the cemetery church of the Assumption, whose murals were painted in 1787 by Neophytos Symaion, is preserved till nowadays. Of great interest are also the murals of St. John in Avalas. You will notice the scaly armor of St. Demetrios and the unusual representation of Paradise on the west wall.
In recent years some residencies have been restored in the uninhabited settlement.
